What is Niacinimide?

Niacinimide is the buzz word in skincare right now. There’s good reason it’s become so popular too – unlike acids, which present more of a challenge in finding the right one to suit your skin type, niacinamide is a real crowdpleaser.

This naturally-occurring form of Vitamin B3 boasts a huge range of benefits in skincare. It helps refine pores and regulate sebum levels, which reduces breakouts, and acts as an anti-inflammatory, helping to ease redness. Adding it to your routine seems a no-brainer.

What does it do?

Lots of things, it seems, and on all skin types. Research has shown it has been effective against acne by helping to limit to overproduction of sebum in your skin. That means it’s great against oiliness that clogs pores. It’s also known for helping everything from environmental damage – UV rays, blue light, and air pollution that can cause fine lines and wrinkles – to improving skin hydration to reducing large pores. Not only that, but it’s also a great team player. It’s known as a ‘cell-communicating ingredient’ as it reacts with other cells in your body, encouraging them to generate, healthier and younger-acting cells.
